I was honored to be not only nominated, but awarded, the first Service Excellence award in MassArt’s new Staff Appreciation Awards. I was one of twenty-two staff members nominated for the award, and it was some tough competition!
One of our students, Kei Sasaki (BFA, ceramics) nominated me:
“John has provided the technical expertise and management needed to re-organize Tech Central from a disorganized student run help desk with three technology coordinators to an organized and efficient system of triage and support which has benefited not only the faculty and staff; but the students as well. He also provides his student employees with valuable insight and resources for career development and advancement; and he provides the student body at large with as much technological support and equipment the institution is able to provide.”
Other award categories for individuals included the Open Arms Award, the Visionary Thinking Award, and the Above and Beyond Award. There was also the Awesome Team award for a group of individuals.
I’m very excited to receive the award, and looking forward to celebrating it with the staff and students that help Technology deliver great customer service.
